Cirque Kids Summer Edition
This class is taught by:
Aerials and Yoga Instructor
Jen has been teaching yoga since 2010. In 2013 she discovered AcroYoga and started to share it with her students. It was a natural progression from acrobatic yoga into aerial arts and she quickly fell in love with every circus apparatus she tried. Jen is really excited to be able to share this new love with others at Brass Butterflies!
Between yoga practices Jen completed a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, raises four children and four cats, and tries to find time for good books, good food and good friends.
Does your child climb anything and everything in sight? Why not sign them up for circus themed classes? Aerial arts are a great way for kids to build strength, coordination, and confidence. For the summer, each Cirque Kids class will be a standalone mini-workshop. All levels welcome each week, including complete beginners. The instructor will cater to the levels of the children who are registered. Class sizes will be kept small to allow for lots of individual attention and time on the apparatus, so don't delay your registration!
Participants will have the opportunity to experience multiple apparatuses, including aerial hammock, silks, hoop and static/dance trapeze. Each week will be different. Each class starts with playing fun, active, circus themed games, warming up the body. The children will also learn to stretch safely to maintain or increase flexibility and prevent injury. Class sizes are small (a maximum of 6 students per instructor), and children will progress at their own speed and comfort level.
Ages 8-13 years old.
