Pole and Aerial Small Group Fitness Studio

Jen Horsepool

Aerials and Yoga Instructor

Jen has been teaching yoga since 2010. In 2013 she discovered AcroYoga and started to share it with her students. It was a natural progression from acrobatic yoga into aerial arts and she quickly fell in love with every circus apparatus she tried. Jen is really excited to be able to share this new love with others at Brass Butterflies!
Between yoga practices Jen completed a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, raises four children and four cats, and tries to find time for good books, good food and good friends.

Jen Horsepool instructs the following:
  • Acro Yoga Performance Troupe Halloween 2018
  • This is an 7 week Acro Yoga choreography session that culminates with performing in a group performance at our Halloween Showcase and Party, to be held in the Brass Butterflies studio the evening of Friday, October 26, 2018. All levels of Acro students are welcome to join. No previous experience necessary.  Note that the troupe will meet at least 8 times, with the 7 scheduled Thursdays and at least one floater meeting that will be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon time.

By registering for this session you are committing to attending all sessions and practices, learning the choreography and performing in the showcase. It is very important for the experience of everyone in the troupe that you commit to attending all sessions. If you miss more than one of the weekly sessions (due to illness or emergency), you may be asked to drop out of the troupe, without refund, or practice on your own time to catch up, on a case-by-case basis. There will be a dress rehearsal the week before the showcase and there may also be additional supplemental rehearsals or practice sessions scheduled at the instructor's discretion. These are included in the session fee. No refunds for withdrawing after the first meeting.

PLEASE NOTE: Troupe participants will be expected to purchase a costume for the performance. While every effort will be made to keep costume costs affordable, it could cost upwards of $50-100. This cost is NOT included in the troupe fee and should be budgeted for when deciding to join the troupe.

The cost of the troupe is

$199 + HST for students not also enrolled in one or more other curriculum classes during the September/October session, or

$149 + HST for 8-week session students who are enrolled in one or more curriculum class during the September/October session, or

$99 + HST for Chrysalis and Monarch members. Monarch members may pay once and attend as many troupes as they like.

Your enrolment also gains you free access to special posted "Showcase Performers Only" practice times throughout the the 8 week period leading up to the showcase.

  • Cirque Kids (8-11 years)
  • Does your child climb anything and everything in sight? Why not sign them up for the circus themed classes?  Aerial arts are a great way for kids to build strength, coordination, and confidence. During an 8 week session, children will have the opportunity to experience multiple apparatuses, including aerial hammock, silks, hoop and static/dance trapeze, learning basic technique and skills on each. Each class starts with playing fun, active, circus themed games, warming up the body. The children will also learn to stretch safely to maintain or increase flexibility and prevent injury. Class sizes are small (a maximum of 6 students per instructor), and children will progress at their own speed and comfort level.

  • AcroFit
  • AcroFit is a dynamic conditioning class where the only equipment you need is another person! A super fun workout that will leave you laughing (and also a little sweaty), you'll progressively learn acro yoga moves in a safe and supportive environment.  Put down your phones and pick up your friends!
