Pole, Aerial and Fitness Class Instructor
In September of 2013 Ellie took her first pole class. While laying on the floor in pain the next day, she knew it was love. Since then the love has grown to include silks and hoop; each apparatus presenting a new and exciting challenge. She finds that pole and aerial arts encourage continual personal growth and deliver an endless supply of new opportunities and friends. Brass Butterflies is now her second home and family. She is thrilled to be able to crunch numbers during the day and fly all night.


Ellie G instructs the following:
  • Beginner/Intermediate Pole
  • This class is ideal for those who have already taken Beginner Pole one or more times, but do not feel ready to move into Intermediate. Both levels of curriculum are welcome and will be taught in this class and students will be encouraged to work at their own level.

  • Advanced/Masters Pole
  • This class is ideal for those who have already taken Advanced Pole at least once, but students do not feel ready to move into Masters. Both levels of curriculum are welcome and will be taught in this class and students will be encouraged to work at their own level.

  • Fit and Flexy
  • Combining conditioning exercises with flexibility training, this class is specifically designed to improve strength and flexibility in all the places you need it to enhance your regular pole or aerial practice. Struggling with inversions? Have to work your core. Is climbing getting you down?  Need to work you upper body.  Want to really rock those super flexy floor tricks or get your splits?  We work on that in this class!  From basic spins to the trickiest tricks, this class will prepare your body to conquer them!  
     
    Fit and Flexy does not use any apparatus (poles, silks or hoops). It is almost exclusively body weight exercises and stretching, possibly with the aid of blocks and straps if required. It is designed for all levels of pole and aerial students and modifications are given for beginners through to advanced students. You don't even have to be a pole or aerial student to enjoy the benefits from this class.  Techniques used may include, but are of course not limited to, high intensity interval training, dynamic stretching, PNF stretching.  You'll leave this class feeling like Jell-o (in a good way).
     

    Please bring clean indoor running shoes for the warm-up portion of this class. It is also recommended that you wear long pants and sleeves, or tights or leg warmers to keep the heat in your muscles as you stretch them.


  • Pole Condition and Sculpt
  • A full body workout customized for pole dancers to target the muscles and movements needed for pole specific movements from beginner spins to the most advanced tricks. Focus will be mainly on core and upper body. This class is held in the main pole studio and uses the poles for conditioning work.
     

  • Intro to Aerial Arts
  • New to the world of Aerial Arts? This is a great place to start. The 8-week Intro to Aerial Arts class is a mandatory prerequisite for any Beginner level aerial class. It will focus on building strength and learning the fundamentals of Aerial Hammock, Silks, and Hoop. With an emphasis on technique and safety, this class will introduce you to basic positions, moves and climbs/mounts for each apparatus. It is a great way to try all three apparatus before choosing which to focus on. Don't let the belief that 'I just don't have the upper body strength,' or 'I'm not flexible enough' keep you on the ground. Those things will come with practice! Every ability is welcome. No previous aerial experience required!
     

  • Advanced Pole
  • Students should now be comfortable with Extended Butterfly and will begin learning even more advanced variations on this beautiful move. Aerial Inversions, Shoulder Mount, Helicopter, Superman and Hip Holds, Cupid, Figurehead, Genevieve, Dove, Shooting Star and Half Jade are just a few of the moves you will learn in this level.
     

  • Intro to Pole
  • New to Pole Dancing?  This is where to start! Our introductory level will give you to the perfect foundation of basic pole conditioning, floor work, beginner holds and spins to get you started. These classes are challenging, lively and fun. No previous pole dancing experience required!

    What to Expect:
    In the Intro to Pole level of our Pole Dancing curriculum, you will begin each lesson with a warm up and some fun and sexy floor work designed to make for great dance and transition elements in your pole routines but also to build your strength for the pole work. You'll then spend the rest of each class learning the foundations of movement on and around the pole starting from walking around the pole to some basic strength and spin moves. You'll finish off each class by "dancing it out" where your instructor will lead you through a mini routine on the pole.
