Update About COVID-19 Policies - Next phase begins May 30, 2022
Per our last update on April 30th, we have reviewed our mask policy, taking into consideration the results from the survey of our current clients which we conducted last week, we are announcing today that we will be moving to next phase of our COVID-19 reopening on Monday, May 30th.
What is changing in this phase:
Wearing of masks will still be required upon entry into the studio, in the Reception area, bathrooms, change rooms, and while moving about the studio
When at your point/pole/mat/designated space in class, you will have the option to remove your mask
Physical/hands-on spotting will once again be offered by instructors. Both instructor and student will be required to wear a mask while spotting is being offered. Students always have the option to decline physical spotting.
Instructors may choose to teach without a mask, however they will always have a mask available and will put it on when moving around the classroom to offer 1-1 instruction and spotting.
The upstairs change room facilities and toilets will reopen to students. Showers will remain closed/off limits. We ask that students limit the amount of time spent in the change room/bathroom facilities to a minimum. We will ask that a limit of 3 people use either change room at one time.
Measures that remain in place:
Masks still need to be three-layer or better. No single layer fabric masks please.
It is VERY important that you understand our self screening and attendance policy. We ask that students experiencing ANY (not just COVID-19 specific) new/unexplained symptoms of illness err on the side of caution and do not attend the studio. You may attend the studio if symptoms are due to a known and/or chronic condition, or 5 days after the onset of symptoms or a positive COVID test, whichever comes first, provided your symptoms have resolved or been improving for at least 24 hours (48 hours for gastro-intestinal symptoms). If you’re not 100% sure of the cause of your symptoms, please wait a few days until you are sure; maybe it is just allergies or food poisoning, but unless you have a medical confirmation of this, please err on the side of caution and assume you are contagious.
We continue to ask that students take responsibility for good hand hygiene at appropriate times using the hand sanitizer provided in various places around the studio.
The studio will continue with regular cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, especially high touch surfaces.
The studio will continue to employ HEPA13 air purifiers in all classrooms and the reception area.
Please stand in front of the plexiglas shield or stand back a few feet from the side of the reception desk when speaking to the staff on duty.
At this time we will continue to structure classes to avoid apparatus sharing, HOWEVER we might introduce apparatus sharing again, especially in the pole studio to allow for the reintroduction of spin pole in curriculum classes, before the beginning of the summer Term (July). We will make an announcement about this in the next few weeks, to coincide with registrations opening for the summer term of classes.
Please Note: We reserve the right to change our policies at any time in the future based on guidance from Public Health authorities and our own assessment of the risk to the health and safety of our staff and students, including resuming the requirement to wear a mask at all times while in the studio.
If you have any questions about our studio policies, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your continued care and consideration for your fellow Kaleidoscope members.
